Woods Course Renovation
The newly renovated Woods 9 is now open! The project was initially slated to be completed by June 1. However, the unbelievable effort put forth by Duininck Construction and superintendent Mike Bohnenstingl allowed the course to open on Memorial Day weekend. The updates added shot value, strategy, playability, and, most importantly, maintainability. The Marsh 9 renovation project will begin this fall, bringing 27 fully renovated holes to play next year.
Course Conditions Update
The conditions at both golf courses continue to get great reviews and feedback. Mike Bohnenstingl, Chad Bohnenstingl, and the grounds crews at The Pines and The Preserve are doing a fantastic job. The greens are running firm, fast, and smooth making them some of the best to putt on in the state.
New Event: Drive for THRIVE Ladies Scramble
Join us on June 12 for an afternoon of golf, supporting Minnesota's cancer warriors and their families! Drive for THRIVE is presented by the INDY Foundation and organized by the Glacial Waters Spa at Grand View Lodge. This scramble event with an 11:30 AM shotgun start is for teams of four ladies and will be played on our newly renovated Woods 9. Proceeds will benefit the INDY Foundation. Tip from the Pro: Around the World Putting Drill
Make four putter-length putts from each angle of the hole. Try to find a spot on the green that is not perfectly flat for this drill that gives you an uphill putt, downhill putt, left-to-right putt, and a right-to-left putt. Using the putter length will keep the putt short but also get you used to aiming your putter and feeling the slope of the green.
