FOOD & BEVERAGE
- How old do my guests have to be in order to consume alcoholic beverages?Minnesota State Law prohibits anyone under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages (340A.503). All guests under 30 will be carded. ID is required for service.
- Can I bring in outside food?No. You may select menu items provided in this package. Due to health regulations, any food not consumed is prohibited from leaving GVL property. No Food or Beverage of any kind is permitted to be brought into any contracted event space, by the patron or patrons’ guests with the exceptions of wedding cakes and wine by the bottle ($25 corkage fee/bottle will apply). We serve a full bar with any Host Bar. Host Bars offered at per drink prices only, or package, except Keg beer (see bar guide). All bar charges are subject to an 18% service charge and MN state liquor tax. Last Call is at 11:30 PM or 12:30 AM depending on location. There are no exceptions. Any outside food events are subject to a $300 fee. $100/server/hour fee to be applied for butler passed hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and signature cocktails. A minimum fee of $2++ tax per guest will apply for wedding cakes if the party chooses to use a GVL attendant to cut, plate, serve and clear. Wedding cakes brought in must be produced by a licensed baker and Serv Safe Certified. Ask your planner for preferred vendors.
- When do I need to confirm the number of guests that will be attending?A final guaranteed number of guests is required 7 business days prior to your event. This number is considered a guarantee and is not subject to reduction. If not received, the estimated figure will be used as the guarantee for billing purposes. You will be billed for the final guaranteed number or actual numbers; whichever is greater. Menu selections and specific requests are to be finalized 30 days prior to function.
- Does Grand View Lodge have food and beverage minimums?
Yes, Grand View Lodge has food and beverage minimums are detailed below by room rental. Off-season rates are available November through April.
- Heritage Room Rental: $2,000 | F&B Min: $8,000 | Deposit: $4,000
- Norway Center Room Rental: $2,000 | F&B Min: $9,000 | Deposit: $4,500
- Gull Lake Center Room Rental: $3,000 | F&B Min: $13,000 | Deposit: $6,500
ROOM BLOCKS
- Is there a minimum night stay requirement for room blocks and lodgings at Grand View Lodge?
Yes, A 2–night minimum stay is required for any lodging reservations at Grand View Lodge; Holiday weekends are a 3–night minimum stay.
- Five rooms will be held in your room block and are held until 60 days prior to your wedding date. Room blocks will not be opened until the rebook window has been completed.
- Once you are within 60 days, any rooms in your block without deposits will be released.
- Guests may still call our Reservations Department within 60 days to book a room, based on availability.
- Standard holds consist of 1 bedroom lodging units, based on availability.
- Does Grand View Lodge offer room blocks?Yes, Grand View Lodge offers room blocks for guests of 100 or more. Rooms will not be held, nor room blocks created until a signed contract has been returned to GVL and a deposit has been made and/ or we are 48 weeks from the date of your wedding. Grand View Lodge strongly suggests booking lodging rooms as early as possible to ensure the widest variety of room availability to their guests and families.
LINENS & ROOM SET-UP
- What is included in my room rental fee at Grand View Lodge?
Grand View Lodge is happy to include the following into your room rental:
- Standard white linens
- White or black cotton napkins
- Table settings
- Gift Tables
- Name Card Tables
- Appetizer Tables
- Cake Table
- Three Cocktail Tables (if additional cocktail tables are required, additional charges will apply)
Any additional decoration is at the discretion of the wedding couple. See planner for restrictions, as well as possible ideas and referrals.
VENDORS
- Can I use outside vendors for my wedding at Grand View Lodge?Yes, outside vendors are welcome to decorate – please note that any visible marks or damage to GVL property will not be tolerated and a damage fee may be assessed. Vendors must adhere to the Grand View Lodge Resort Policy. See planner with any decorating questions or for approval on any questionable actions.
DECORATING
- Does Grand View Lodge decorate for my wedding?
Decorating is the sole responsibility of the group. Access to your venue will be contracted at 1:00 PM and all items brought in will be required to be removed immediately after the event by you or your decorator. Any decorating above the tabletop must be handled by a licensed, bonded party. Any additional help needed from Grand View employees will be subject to an up–charge. Grand View Lodge requires all decorations to comply with local and state fire codes. Nothing can block exit doors. Any flammable materials used to decorate must be pre–approved by your planner. Low voltage lighting and contained candles are the only acceptable forms of additional lighting. Confetti/Rice is not allowed on–property for event usage, however, flower petals can be used outdoors. $100 clean-up fee may apply. Nothing can be placed on the projection wall of the Norway Center or fastened to the walls of the Gull Lake Center. All third party planners are subject to approval by Grand View Lodge.
Specialty tablecloths, chair ties and napkins also available: ask for pricing. $300 charge for additional clean–up if necessary (above and beyond normal circumstances). If you require overnight storage, it must be prearranged; space is limited and based on availability. Fees apply. Grand View Lodge is not responsible for damaged, lost or left behind items from your event. Return shipping fees will be charged to your account if applicable.
FOOD TASTINGS
- What if I cannot attend the Grand View Lodge wedding fair?
If you are unable to attend the GVL wedding fair, we also have a private tasting option available. Private tastings are available Monday-Friday only at either 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM – based on availability – and require a minimum of 20 days notice. Please contact your Event Planner to book a private tasting.
- Wedding Couple is $125
- Additional Guests are $50 per person
- Private tastings include two salads, three entrées and Grand View Lodge House Wines
- Does Grand View Lodge arrange food tastings prior to our event?
Grand View Lodge hosts one wedding fair each year. The wedding fair will showcase our hors d’oeuvres, a variety of our culinary favorites, and our most popular Wedding Wines for you to sample and enjoy.

DANCE FLOOR
- Are there any limitations regarding what we can and cannot do for our wedding at Grand View Lodge?To respect the privacy of our Grand View guests and businesses, wedding photography is prohibited in The Chocolate Ox and Glacial Waters Spa and any other space currently open for business. This includes restroom and spa facilities. Glacial Waters Spa’s Relaxation Room and Locker Room are strictly for spa guests. The Get–Ready Room space provided to the Wedding couple is based on availability and must be requested in advance. Your room space to include: 1 mirror, chairs and tables. Additional room space may be reserved for $300 and is based on availability.
- Does Grand View Lodge assist with planning my wedding?In keeping with our policy of impeccable service, you will be assigned an event planner to assist you in every detail of your wedding. You will be introduced to the Banquet Manager prior to your event. Any last-minute concerns can be addressed to the Banquet Manager or your Event Planner.
- Does Grand View Lodge offer discounts for our wedding party on any amenities?Yes, discounted rates are available at The Pines and The Preserve – tee times based on availability.
- What sites are available for my wedding ceremony at Grand View Lodge?
Grand View Lodge offers the following ceremony sites:

Golf carts are driven by Grand View Lodge Employees if needed to transport guests to and from the ceremony location.
- Is a dance floor included in my room rental fee?A dance floor is included in your room rental fee for the Gull Lake Center and Norway Center. The Heritage Room has an existing dance floor; the Gull Lake Center and the Norway Center requires dance floor set–up. Gull Lake Center (standard size 18’x21’), Norway Center (standard size 12’x15’). If a larger size dance floor is required, additional fees to apply. Staging is available, ask your planner for details. There may be a facilitation fee to handle additional power/electrical needs if applicable.
DEPOSITS
- How much do I owe as a deposit to rent wedding space at Grand View Lodge?Grand View Lodge requires a 50% deposit ($7500 max.) of established food and beverage to confirm event space held. All deposits are non refundable. A final payment will be due 30 days prior to the event. One more final payment of miscellaneous charges will be requested immediately following the event and upon receipt of final invoice. Finance charges begin to accrue after 30 days. Interest rate is 19.5% APR.

LIMITED LIABILITY
- What is Grand View Lodge’s liability policy?Grand View Lodge reserves the right to inspect and control all private parties, bands and receptions being held on premise. Grand View Lodge accepts no responsibility for damage or loss of personal equipment. Clients accept Liability in case of damage to Banquet rooms or any Grand View Lodge property.
REHEARSALS
- How long is my rehearsal at Grand View Lodge?Rehearsals will be scheduled closer to the actual ceremony date by your Grand View Lodge planner. The rehearsal will be based on space and availability. Rehearsals are limited to 30 minutes. Additional fees may apply if rehearsal runs longer than 30 minutes.
