An intimate setting and small plate theme offer guests a sophisticated, romantic dining option
Grand View Lodge’s new dining experience, Cru, announces its official grand opening, taking place June 28 through the 4th of July weekend. Located on the resort’s main property, Cru boasts sophisticated small plates with local and regional flavors and features worldly wines, all against the backdrop of the property’s intimate wine cellar setting.
Cru, a French wine term meaning great growth and harvest, offers a classic and quaint atmosphere steps away from the main lodge, providing the perfect dining experience for a romantic dinner or special get-together with friends. Executive Chef Michael Manders brings his knowledge of regional and local cuisine as well as over 20 years of experience to the new restaurant. Also contributing to ever evolving and exciting menu is Chef de Cuisine, Paul Fitzpatrick.
Their approach is traditional fare with an unexpected twist. The small plate cuisine allows for superior ingredients that please both the palate and the eye. Using the best, fresh local products available, infused with ethnic flavors, Cru’s menu may feature dishes such as:
- Baby Beets and Goat Cheese: Coach Farm’s triple cream goat cheese, micro greens, candied walnuts, reduced balsamic
- Pesto Marinated Prawns: parmesan polenta, spicy tomato compote
- Lobster Thai Corn Chowder: corn custard, chili oil
- Grilled Lamb Sliders: micro greens, vine ripe tomatoes, feta cheese, harissa, cucumber sauce
Cru’s manager, Christine Iannelli, formerly of the Ritz Carlton South Beach, has relocated to MN to add her special touch to the service at the new venue. Iannelli and Grand View’s Sommelier Timothy Edmunds, also of CRAVE restaurants, combined their expertise to create an extensive international wine list featuring a variety of vintages and other sought-after selections to complement the range of tastes offered.
Cru is currently open Tuesday-Sunday for dinner service; call 1-866-801-2951for a reservation.
