The new recreation center Northpark to debut summer of 2019
If there is one thing Grand View guests ask for each year, it is another place to swim. Of course, the beach is unbeatable on a sunny summer day, but during the off-season when the indoor pool is the only choice, it tends to get busy. Besides, what about a larger workout area with new fitness equipment? We know wellness is important and travelers want to stay healthy while on vacation or on the road for work. Well, we heard you, and we are excited to introduce NorthPark, our new indoor/outdoor pool, and recreation center slated to open June 1, 2019.
The addition of NorthPark will bring countless new activities to the already robust programming available at Grand View. More than just a rec center with not one but two pools, new amenities will also include a cornhole stadium, climbing wall, sand volleyball courts, ice skating rinks, a basketball court, children’s activity area, mini golf course, lawn bowling, and courts for croquet, pickleball, and tennis.
Inside, the facility will feature a 3,779-square-foot pool area, complete with a slide, swimming lanes, two hot tubs, and ample space for tables and chairs for guests’ year-round enjoyment. Walls with floor to ceiling windows allow the indoor pool area to fill with sunlight, offering bright natural light and a beautiful view of the outdoors. This new indoor pool will offer more swimming area in comparison to the current pool facility at Grand View, which will remain open for guests’ use.
NorthPark will also feature an expansive outdoor pool area. This space is excellent for those wanting to enjoy the long summer days under the warm sun. Another attention-grabbing addition to the outdoor pool deck is a large hot tub area, which will also be open year-round. Umbrella patio tables, outdoor reclining pool chairs, and talks of a possible food truck are also in the plans. With a stunning design, incredible views, and convenient location, NorthPark will set itself apart from any other recreational resort amenities in the entire Brainerd Lakes Area.
While the two new pools are the cornerstone of NorthPark, there is a lot more to see and do. Inside will also offer a new Kids’ Club, state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga studio and retail shop. The front desk will be staffed daily, offering personalized assistance with bike rentals, Kids’ Club and fitness class sign-ups, and even tee times for the new Par 3 Garden Golf Course.
The spacious new fitness center will boast all-new work out equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical trainers, and free weights. A dedicated fitness studio will accommodate a variety of classes beyond just yoga, such as mat Pilates, stretching, dance and other guided fitness classes for guests to enjoy. The best part? For any guests who stop by after hours or prefer a more personal exercise experience, a high-tech smartboard will display a variety of options for classes lead by virtual trainers, inviting guests to work out at their own pace and in privacy.
The new Kids’ Club program will excite children more than ever before to want to visit Grand View, which is hard to believe. A fenced-in outdoor area will house a swing set, playground and ample opportunities for kids to explore in nature. Meanwhile, indoors, children can play games, read, do arts and crafts and much more. This interactive new space provides a haven for kids to learn, have fun, and just enjoy being a kid with a qualified team of supervisors leading their day and keeping them engaged. So for parents who want to golf a quick 18 holes or indulge in signature spa services, this new Kids’ Club is the perfect respite knowing that their children are being well taken care of and having their own version of fun.
NorthPark will be an ever-changing and evolving area. Located near the current Garden Course parking lots on the main property, there is enough space to continue to add new activities and sports in the future, as well.
NorthPark will undoubtedly become the epicenter for adventure at Grand View Lodge. Offering something for truly everyone, this newest attraction will add so many more experiences and memories for guests to enjoy. Get excited this year, because 2019 is going to be a lot of fun.
