On The Rocks: Our NEW Outdoor Dining Venue with a View
What was previously known as the Northwoods Pub Deck is our new outdoor dining venue called ‘On the Rocks.’ It is clear that there have been changes to the deck since the “storm of the century” which hit last August. We lost over 300 trees, one of which, destroyed the deck on the back of the lodge.
“Watching our team clean up the property so efficiently after the storm was rewarding to see,” said General Manager Mark Ronnei. “Seeing the new construction take shape was exciting. Our main priority is guest satisfaction. The patio is a very functional space providing more seating for those wanting to enjoy a view and also offers a picturesque backdrop to our iconic Grand Staircase ceremony site.”
On The Rocks, named after one of its main landscape characteristics, features two levels. The top level encompasses two wooden pergolas with built-in patio fire pits. This adds ambiance to a cool evening and creates an isolated and private feel to the space. The lower level, a new spin to our update, provides groups and weddings with an intimate and separate location so everyone can enjoy the new area.
Also, new to the design is our outdoor patio bar. This stone-structure has 12 stools for guests to relax, sip, and dine. Two waterfalls on opposite sides creates a peaceful and mind-relaxing addition. Increased seating and added lighting will serve as an extra bonus as well. Guests will not feel overcrowded, and you will now be able to enjoy patio seating after the sun has gone down.
Aside from the updated design and construction of On the Rocks, also new is the venue’s separate bar and food menu. Similar to that of the Northwoods Pub, it features a wide variety of appetizers, burgers, and sandwiches. A separate entrée menu is available after 5 p.m. for those with a bigger appetite. The Grilled Bistro Steak is a selection on the entrée menu. It features blue cheese butter, and grilled asparagus and is a must-try!
Looking for something a little lighter for summer? On The Rocks offers a variety of different soup and salad options. The Seafood Cobb Salad is a gluten free option with grilled shrimp, scallops, romaine, tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, bacon, avocado, and creamy Dijon dressing.
