It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas! Tasked with planning the annual holiday party? Don’t get your tinsel in a tangle. Grand View can help with all the details – venue, date, food and beverage, décor, and more.
The company holiday party is an opportunity to show appreciation and celebrate your employees. It builds loyalty as a company and makes your employees feel recognized for their work.
Grand View Lodge is the perfect venue for your Holiday gathering, as our planners help you every step of the way. We can accommodate groups both large and small. Share your vision with us and we’ll create an event just for you!
Step 1: Choosing a Date
It’s a great idea to select a suitable date and time that works best for your employees. The earlier a date is decided, the better chance you have for higher attendance. Lock it down so your team can plan accordingly.
HINT: If this is going to be a destination party, the first two weeks of November, December and January are usually the slowest time periods for many resorts. You may find special pricing for your group if it includes an overnight stay. Plus, everybody can enjoy themselves and not worry about driving after a couple cocktails.
Step 2: Venue
Grand View has several event venues to choose from to host your holiday party. We’re excited to offer our new space this winter, the Wedding Chapel/Gathering House. This is a great venue for not only weddings but also dining and catering events.
Other popular options include the Grand Ballroom, the Norway Center, the Heritage Room, Headwaters, and Cru (based on availability).
Our wide variety of venues, both grand and intimate, provides options for groups up to 400 or as few as 15.
HINT: Make sure your planner is aware of any entertainment or activities you’d like to include for the event.
Step 3: Food and Beverage
You can’t host a party without great food and beverage selections. Special holiday buffet menus are offered, as well as our existing banquet buffet options, plated dinners, and an extensive list of amazing hors-d’oeuvres. You can also work with your planner to come up with something custom. Our culinary team is experienced and dedicated to providing the best flavors for you and your guests.
After you select the date, we can work with you on choosing the perfect menu for your holiday party. Our chefs can also accommodate special dietary needs upon request. Curious about the endless food options? View our sample menu online.
HINT: Many times, the menu is the make-or-break component to the party. Consider something unique, like a smorgasbord of appetizers – a great way to please all palates rather than a plated chicken dinner.
Step 4: Décor
Christmas trees, twinkling lights, greenery, poinsettias….enhance your holiday party with some seasonal décor. We can recommend some amazing vendors to spice up your space. Do you have your own décor you’d like to bring in? No problem! Just let us know and we’ll work with you to arrange some setup time.
HINT: Seasonal centerpieces and soft lighting are simple ways to create a nice ambiance. Our grounds and lobby areas are decorated in the Christmas spirit, so your guests will already feel the joy as they arrive for your party.
Step 5: The Extras
Add some extra fun to your party with entertainment. Bands, DJ’s, comics, casino rentals, etc. can all add a little pizzaz to the evening!

Hint: Consider a gift exchange or gift raffle. Have each employee bring a present, something from home. We can set up a skirted table that you can decorate with all of the fun gifts set out. This is also a way to build excitement for your employees and a way that they can interact with each other outside of the office.
