Grand View Recognized at "Best of..." Weddings Awards
Grand View Lodge has just been recognized at the 2016 Minnesota Bride Magazine’s Best of Awards as the “Best Honeymoon” location in Minnesota for the fifth consecutive year and “Best Outdoor Reception Venue” for the first year. They were also nominated for “Best Ceremony Venue” for the second year in row but lost to A’Bulae by just a few votes. Each year the awards are voted by over 10,000 readers for the publication’s Best of 2016 list, which features the year’s best wedding vendors, from dressmakers to custom cakes.
Grand View Lodge, the only nominee from the Brainerd Lakes Area, was extremely successful in winning two of the three awards they were nominated for. Voters cited it was the Lodge’s seclusion, dining, customer service, cabins, venue spaces, ambiance and amenities that made Grand View an easy pick for the winner.
“It was an honor to win based on our outdoor venues and honeymoons,” said Grand View’s wedding planner Becky Bohnenstingl. “We host around over 90 weddings throughout the year and many of these, are outdoor. Our spaces create a unique experience with that touch of the ‘northwoods.’ It is wonderful to be recognized by so many people for our hard work.”
This year the Minnesota Bride Magazine Best of Awards was held in the newly opened Machine Shop event center in Minneapolis on June 19, 2016. Converted from the old Pillsbury Mill, at one time the largest working mill in the world, this was a beautiful combination of the old and the new. Keeping the original architectural details from its creation in 1916, it offers a great escape in the St. Anthony neighborhood in Minneapolis. Able to accommodate over 300 guests it was a perfect location to host the ever-growing Minnesota Bride Magazine Best of Awards.
