Top 10 Summer Things to do at Grand View Lodge

Top 10 Summer Things to do at Grand View Lodge

1. Enjoy a drink this Summer on our NEW outdoor dining venue – On The Rocks

We are excited to introduce ‘On the Rocks’ to our guests. The new outdoor patio has two levels for our guests to enjoy this summer. The lower level offers an intimate and separate location with two waterfalls. The waterfalls add to the intimate space and provide a beautiful backdrop to enjoy while relaxing and having a cocktail or for a casual meeting space.

Our upper level offers wooden pergolas and built-in fire pits. These features give our new dining space an updated look compared to our beloved fallen deck which was destroyed in last year’s storm. Our favorite update is the new stone-structured outdoor bar. It is the perfect place to relax, sip, dine, and enjoy the view at our new dining venue.

4. Tacos and a Prickly Pear Margarita at Tanque Verde Cantina

While many enjoyed our former Loony’s Beach Hut, we are excited to offer fun and more exciting experience with our new venue, Tanque Verde Cantina. Named after our sister property in Tucson, Arizona, the Tanque Verde Cantina offers delicious southwestern flavors including tacos, burritos, and salads. The bar has also been extended, glass garage doors were added to help block the wind on those ‘not so calm days, ’ and a new menu is featured. 5. Guided Fishing

Gull Lake is the home of walleyes, northern pike, large and smallmouth bass, crappies, and sunnies and there are a couple of different ways to experience it properly. For the kids, our recreation team will take you out for an unforgettable fishing experience. Our pontoon fishing is a complimentary family favorite. Being one of the most popular hobbies in Minnesota, this is a great experience for all the kids. Poles and bait are provided.

For the adults, a guided experience is a must. In the Brainerd Lakes area, we have more fishing pros than we have lakes. Try S&W Guide Service, one of our favorite and recommended fishing guide services. They will pick you up at the dock in the morning and provide the boat, bait, poles, and experience to get you to some of the favorite fishing holes on the Gull Lake chain. Just let them know what type of ‘lunker’ you want to catch, and away you go. Guided fishing costs a little bit extra but it is well worth the experience.
