Summer Restaurant Changes

Summer Restaurant Changes

Everyone can relate that when you are hungry— life becomes a little more difficult. And that principle even applies when you are on vacation at Grand View. This year we are happy to announce some new summer restaurant changes to a couple of your favorite venues and of course, some creative menu changes. We surely don’t want you to go hungry and we are excited about our new flavors.

More Options on the Beach

Loony’s, our beachfront cantina, has switched from an American style menu to one that serves more Mexican specialties. It is important that those that visit the beach, guests or the public, have many options to satisfy their hunger. Come for the new summer restaurant items that include…

  • Loony’s Nachos
  • Burrito Loco
  • Shredded Chicken Taco
  • Carne Asada Torta
  • Fried Calamari
  • Southwest Salad

“I am personally excited for some of the fantastic flavors we are bringing to the beach,” says executive sous chef Matias Latorre. “Most of our items are light and flavorful, perfect for our beach goers. My favorites are the pork carnitas, shrimp and shredded chicken tacos. Simple and savory!”

Adding exciting items to our summer restaurant menus, like our Burrito Loco, has helped create more variety among our seven restaurants. Plus with all these great dishes, make sure you try some of our new margaritas while you’re taking in the sun. And don’t forget, while we have added new items; we still have several options for those who are craving a burger or hot dog. We hope to see you enjoying a cold beverage, fabulous food while relaxing at the beach this summer.

Italian Gardens à la Carte Choices

One of our older summer restaurants, The Italian Gardens, has always had what we call Mama Mia or ‘a family portion.’ Much like you would get at home, you will all pick your portions from one large platter. With Mama Mia you get a starter, salad, choice of three entrees, dessert and warm Italian breads for one price per person. While this is a unique and exciting way to dine with you family or friends, it does not easily facilitate those who just want an entrée by itself by just ordering à la carte.

This year we are excited to announce some new entrees to the menu. Of course we are still featuring our classics and GVL favorites like the Parmigiano de Pollo, Lasagna alla Bolognese and Gnocchi Primavera. But for new items, features like Linguine all Vongole (clams, olive oil, citrus white wine reduction,) Di Salmon al Forme (herb-crusted, roasted tomato salad, summer vegetables, fingerling potatoes, lemon honey butter,) or the Ravioli di Zucca (butternut squash ravioli, roasted red peppers, brown butter sauces, pines nuts and sage) are sure to be crowd pleasers.

“My favorite new menu item is definitely the Ravioli di Zucca,” said Justin Christenson, our Chef at Italian Gardens. “It’s sweet and savory; and the sage makes the aroma of the plate. Super excited for this summer’s guests to try these new additions.”

As you can see, our chefs have really come to the ‘plate’ this year with some exciting new menu items and flavors. We look forward to your visit and don’t forget to make reservations at www.gvlfun.com or just stop down at the beach and enjoy. With all the new changes, it’s looking like a really great summer!
