Every year Brainerd Jaycees, an organization of young professionals in the area, work together to put together the world’s largest ice fishing extravaganza to raise money for non-profits in the area such as Camp Confidence Learning Center. Grand View pairs with Brainerd Jaycees as the primary location to stay during this time, supplying a free food and beer on the ice for Grand View guest, shuttles, and the closest location to the event. On this package you will also receive lodging, breakfast daily, and fun winter activities starting at only $195 per night.

During the extravaganza you will be able to participate in the Catch of the Day Give-Away, Lindy Bounty Cash Prize, and the Kick-off Party featuring Deuces Wild Dueling Piano Show, located at Grand View lodge.

de’Vine

de’Vine Food and Culinary Weekend is every wine-lover’s dream come true.   We invite all of our wine reps to bring their favorite vintages from around the world and put them on display for all of our guests. The weekend begins with a wine dinner on Friday night, available to package guests only. Saturday begins with our keynote speaker, WCCO’s Jason DeRusha host of DeRusha Eats, then wine and culinary classes engaging in everything from wine and cheese pairings, to mixing the perfect cocktail, and seminars by noteworthy individuals who are expertise in their fields. At the end of the day is the Grand Tasting, where all wines are on display for you to sample and inquire about. What better way to keep warm in the midst of February than with a little wine and cheese.

de’Vine is held February 5-6. As a Grand View guest on this package you will receive lodging, breakfast daily, champagne brunch Sunday, a de’Vine engraved wine glass, and access to all Saturday events. Rates start at $255 per person for two nights. This year as well we will be hosting a VIP experience for the event with some private tastings as well. These tickets will go on sale in January and are limited to 100 people.

The Gull Lake Frozen Fore

Missing the golf season? Or are you just a horrible golfer? We have an alternative for you! This year is the 11th Annual Frozen Fore Golf and Snowmobile Event. Stay at Grand View Lodge as a convenient location to get in on the fun. The main party location is on Hole-in-the-Day Bay, where there is a large heated tent complete with a stage for live music, a full bar, food and more.

Friday Night is the Frozen Flop, where pledgers jump in the frozen lake to raise money for a good cause, except our version is in a heated tent. This is followed by a live music from SOLO Band and Boogie Wonderland. Saturday kicks off the Golf Event in which the holes are carved out of snow and a wedge and a tennis ball are used for scoring. Start at any of the participating locations and ride the free shuttles around the lake with each location having a new golf challenge. The more you complete the closer you are to winning any of the grand prizes. Turn in your scorecards from the golf event and convene at the tent for live music by YNOTT Band and Mother’s Hotdish, featuring some members of Soul Asylum and Prince’s Revolution. Not into golfing? Throughout the day there will be ice racing, the Traveling Art Pub, and live music under the tent. Sunday will conclude the weekend with craft beer tasting and Food Fest under the tent. All details can be found here.

Distilled

This April will be the first ever Distilled: Craft Liquor and Artisan Meats Weekend. Similar to the events at de’Vine, this weekend will be packed with seminars, classes, and food and liquor pairings. Bringing in noteworthy distilleries from the area and locally smoked meats, this is a weekend for anyone who loves to learn more about their liquor! We like to think this is a weekend that Paul Bunyan would enjoy. Stay tuned for more details by “Liking” us on facebook or submitting to our eBlasts here.

Choose one or choose them all! It’s going to be an eventful winter at Grand View Lodge.
