Five reasons why fall golf is the best

Five reasons why fall golf is the best

WINTER IS COMING! Get your golf getaway booked before it’s too late. The fall season can be the best time to play with great weather, vibrant colors, courses that are in the best shape, and of course, the prices fall! Be sure to book any of our golf packages to finish off the season at some incredible courses before it’s too late. What is the best time to play this time of year?

1- The weather

In the fall there’s less daylight, and the weather might be cooler as winter approaches, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to put the clubs away for the winter just yet. Last year The Pines and The Preserve were open for golf until the first week in November. The average temperate in September last year was 65-70 degrees; with the beginning of October being in the sixties falling to the low forties at the end of the month. Of course, it is hard to predict weather in Minnesota, but typically our courses are open until the very end of October, sometimes later.

2- Less Expensive to Play.

Who doesn’t love bargain golf? After September 24, our rates go down. We offer four different golf packages during the fall.

Unique to this package is our Saturday night tent party. Enjoy free food, tap beer, and live music featuring GB Leighton. Prizes are also awarded at the end of the evening.

3- Courses are less crowded.

Golf is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable. During the summertime, sometimes it can quickly become tense and aggravated having to wait on a slow group ahead of you. Perhaps, you are the slow group and become anxious being waited on and it completely throws your game off being rushed. During fall, typically the courses are less crowded leaving with a more enjoyable and relaxing game of golf.

4- Pace of Play

Maybe going hand-in-hand with courses being less crowded and the weather is the pace of play. In the colder months, people are prone to finish faster. With the wind, cold, and less daylight you have to be quick to put in those 18 holes.

5- The foliage

Probably the highlight of fall is the changing of the leaves. The Pines and The Preserve are beautiful in the summer months, but during fall, the leaves change and become a breathtaking surrounding. A bad shot may not seem as bad when you look up and realize that you are circled by an ambient, picture-perfect course.

Sometimes all you have to do is remember that winter is coming, the snow is approaching, and your chances of playing golf are limited. Book your fall golf package now before that happens; you are sure to enjoy the scenery. Have a group with five or more or just want more information on golfing with us?
