General Information about Employment:
- Seasonal, full time positions average 26-40 hours/week.
- Pay rates start between $6.50-$9.00/hr.
- Start dates vary, however most workers should be available by June 15th.
- Uniforms are required and vary by position. Employees are responsible for providing their own pants and uniform shirts must be purchased from Grand View Lodge after arriving.
- Employee housing is available but is limited.

Grand View Lodge has limited housing for incoming summer
staff. Housing is available on a first come, first serve basis. There is

For those students currently enrolled in a college or university here in the United States, Grand View Lodge offers paid internships for all open positions. 2008 SUMMER SEASON
OPEN POSITIONS
Grand View Lodge is accepting applications for the 2008 Summer
Season! Summer at Grand View Lodge is fun and high energy with many opportunities
to make new friends and experience the adventure of the Northwoods at its best.
The following positions are now available for all shifts starting
in May of 2008:
Resort Administrative
Resident Resort Manager - Immediate opening for a year round full time position with on-site housing. Primary tasks include minor maintenance, lawn care, overseeing recreational offerings and winter snow and ice removal of property grounds during the winter months. Candidate should possess strong communications and customer service skills and is independent minded but able to lead a small seasonal staff.
Administrative Assistant - Grand View Lodge is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, the Internet, email, and have at least 3 years relevant experience. Candidate will work closely with the Executive Assistant in support of the President, CEO, and General Manager.
Convention Services - Responsible for set-up and reset of meeting rooms, operation of all audio visual equipment and assisting with evening receptions and hospitality room needs. Other duties include van transportation, room deliveries and assisting other departments.
Convention Services Supervisor - Responsible for the daily
operations of the Conference Center and all scheduled group events. Responsibilities
include audio visual, set-up, transportation, business center, overseeing
staff. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and have a valid driver’s license, with
a clear driving record of at least a year. Previous experience in event services
preferred but not required.
Front Desk Agent - Assist guests during check-in/check-out
process and with all aspects of their stay. Additional duties include answering
phones, selling merchandise and operating the computerized reservation system.
This position requires an outgoing personality and a willingness to provide
exceptional customer service.
Night Audit - Previous experience required. Shift from 11pm to 7am. Must be personable, team player, and possess strong customer service skills.
Resort Operations
Recreation
Waterfront - Staff will be responsible for assisting guests with boating, fishing, skiing/tubing needs as well as maintaining a beautiful 1500 foot beach area. Must be 18 or older to apply.
Pool - Employees will also be responsible for pool supervision,
facility cleanliness and selling food and merchandise in our fantastic pool
facility complete with a 110 foot water slide and fitness center.
Recreation – Responsible for carrying out activities set by the Recreation Director. Activities may include bike rides, craft classes, horseback riding, casino nights, team building activities, etc. Must be responsible, have knowledge of CPR/First Aid, friendly and outgoing. Ability to lift over 50 pounds and have a valid driver’s
license, with a clear driving record of at least a year required. Must
be 18 or older to apply.
Kids Club - Qualified Kids’ Club staff are accountable for providing fun, interactive programs, games and crafts for our younger guests ages 3-12 years old. Counselors will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the children during the day program and themed evening dinners as well as ensuring cleanliness and organization at the Kids’ Club
and various dinner sites.
Golf
Golf Course Maintenance at the Preserve - Responsible for maintenance of golf courses, including mowing, trimming, bunker raking and miscellaneous grounds work. Must be 18 or older to apply.
Golf Pro Shop – Assist guests with check-in/check-out
process of tee times. Must have a general golf knowledge. Additional
duties include answering phones, selling merchandise and operating the
computerized reservation system. This position requires an outgoing personality
and a willingness to provide exceptional customer service.
Golf Sales Coordinator – Responsible for
creating rooming lists and deposits, group billing, working with corporate
groups and assisting with tournaments. Must have general golf knowledge,
excellent communication skills and computer skills, and have a friendly,
outgoing personality.
Spa
Spa Front Desk – Assist guests with making
spa appointments and instruct them once they have arrived. Responsible
for answering phones, selling merchandise, and operating the computerized
reservations system. Must be very organized. This position requires an
outgoing personality and desire to provide exceptional customer service.
Spa Front Desk Supervisor – Oversee front
desk employees at Spa. Assist guests with making appointments and instruct
them once they have arrived. Responsible for answering phones, selling
merchandise, and operating the computerized reservations system. Must be
very organized, outgoing, friendly, and provide exceptional customer service.
Supervisory experience in hospitality/spa setting required.
Esthetician – Required to monitor and maintain
required standards given for specific licensing, hold a current and valid
Minnesota License, be friendly and professional while providing exceptional
guest service.
Massage Therapist – Requires at least 500
hours of massage therapy certification/training. Must be friendly and
professional while providing exceptional guest service.
Nail Tech – Required to monitor and maintain
required standards given for specific licensing, hold a current and valid
Minnesota License, be friendly and professional while providing exceptional
guest service.
Cosmo/Hair Stylist – Required to monitor
and maintain required standards given for specific licensing, hold a
current and valid Minnesota License, be friendly and professional while
providing exceptional guest service.
Food and Beverage
Line Cook/ Prep Cook/ Baker - Responsible for the preparation of all food served in our restaurants. Baker is responsible for the preparation of breads, pastries and desserts. These positions require some understanding of a working kitchen and/or bakery and employees must be able to work as a team or with little supervision.
Dishwashers - Accountable for the cleaning of all kitchen and
Dining Room dishes. Also responsible for the general cleaning of the kitchen
which includes sweeping, mopping, washing walls and cleaning appliances. Training
is provided and no experience is necessary.
Bartenders - Accountable for providing responsible beverage
service at any of our six bars or special event functions. Other duties include
setting up and tearing down portable bars and clean-up of area. Must be 18
years or older to apply.
Dining Room Supervisor, Sherwood Forest – Responsible
for overseeing the dining room and making sure everything is running
smoothly. Assist servers when needed, be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal
skills, and posses the ability to control cost. Two years prior food
and beverage management experience in a fine dining setting required. Must
be 18 or older to apply.
Banquet Servers – Responsible for providing
excellent banquet food service to guests for all functions and special
events as well as dining set-up and clean-up for the events. Must be friendly,
outgoing, prompt, and responsible. Must be 18 or older to apply.
Breakfast Servers – Responsible for providing
exceptional customer service as well as dining set-up and clean-up. Required
to work early shift and set up for lunch. Must be 18 years or older to
apply.
Host/Hostess – Responsible for greeting
and seating guests for meal periods while providing excellent guest service.
Must be able to learn dining plans and the POS system.
Grounds/Maintenance
Grounds/Flowers - Responsible for the up keep of resort grounds and flowers. Position involves a wide variety of tasks, many based around landscaping and general grounds maintenance. This position is great for those who enjoy working outside.
Maintenance - Responsible for completing
skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment,
and facilities. Must have a basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical,
HVAC, refrigeration, pools, lighting, appliances, flooring, furniture repair,
and preventative maintenance inspections. Must have a valid driver’s license,
with a clear driving record of at least a year. Must be 18 or older to
apply.
Housekeeping
Laundry Attendants – Responsible for folding
all clean linens and assisting machine runners when necessary.
Machine Runners – Responsible for getting
all linens clean and prepared for the folders. Runs the washers and dryers
at all times.
Housekeeping - Responsible for maintaining a high standard of
cleanliness in all guest units and public areas. Duties include all aspects
of general cleaning and assisting the front desk staff with in-room guest needs
and requests.
Crew Leaders – Responsible for overseeing a small group of employees while maintaining the high standards of cleanliness in all guest units and public areas. Duties include all aspects of general cleaning and assisting the front desk staff with in-room guest needs and requests. Previous housekeeping experience required. Must have a valid driver’s
license, with a clear driving record of at least a year. Must be 18 or
older to apply.
Housekeeping Supervisor – Responsible for overseeing a employees while maintaining the high standards of cleanliness in all guest units and public areas. Duties include all aspects of general cleaning and assisting the front desk staff with in-room guest needs and requests. One to two years housekeeping supervisory experience in a resort/hotel setting preferred. Must have some computer skills. Must have a valid driver’s
license, with a clear driving record of at least a year. Must be 18 or
older to apply.
Linen Truck Driver - is responsible for replacing dirty linens in outlets with clean ones, as well as delivery of items to guest units. Requires highschool diploma or 3 years equivalent experience. Also requires a valid drivers license and a clean driving record for at least one year. Position is part time, seasonal.
