Deacon’s Lodge of Grand View Included as One of America’s “Best Courses You Can Play” by Golfweek

BRAINERD, Minn. (April 8, 2011) – Deacon’s Lodge, a par 72 championship course at Grand View Lodge in the Brainerd lakes area, was named one of the nation’s “Best Courses You Can Play” by Golfweek magazine. The publication selected courses from across the country based on criteria such as level of play, daily-fee, layouts and accessibility via resorts. Just ten courses from Minnesota received the honor, and Deacon’s Lodge was ranked as the sixth best in the state.

Designed by Arnold Palmer and named after his father “Deacon”, this challenging course features 18 holes with impeccably maintained Bentgrass greens and fairways that smoothly flow across 500 acres of gorgeous forest, wetlands and lakes. Golfers have access to a full-service pro shop and clubhouse built in a distinct lodge style.
Other golf-related distinctions that Grand View Lodge has earned in recent years include being named among the “75 Best Golf Resorts in North America” by Golf Digest (2009/2010) and “Gold Medal Winner / Best Destinations in Golf” by Golf Magazine (2010).
